Here is all the unnecessary weight of the stock ignition/lock, a 1lb reduction.

The necessary stuff to turn the bike on, all 0.000-nothing lbs of it!  A “key” of some sort will be glued in, otherwise a screwdriver is needed to turn it to “on”.

The Bazzaz QS senor rod installed! I can’t install the rest of the Bazzaz until I finish the CF subframe, so this will have to do for now.

Here are the Gilles tecaGT’s with lifters.  These are supposed to make tire changes and chain adjustments a snap.  Gilles doesn’t give these away, so they better work VERY well!!!

Here is a close-up of the junction on the Galfer superbike lines, they have equal length lines to each caliper and a single line going from this junction to the master.  This supposedly equals pressure to the calipers for better braking feel, not sure if I’m sensitive enough, I guess we’ll see!

That’s all for now, I’m waiting on a shipment of CF cloth and the proper size spacers for my upper shock eye and a BMC race filter from Madison Motorsports, things will start moving fast once the subframe, airfilter, and shock are in place!

The spacers for the upper shock mount finally arrived, at 1.02 in across they fit just fine unlike the originals which were a portly 1.09!  BMC race filter is installed and the airbox is all buttoned up.  I also somehow remembered to install the wiring harness on the coils for the quickshifter BEFORE I put the airbox on, this may be the first time ever I have not had take a major part right back off to install some other part I forgot about.  Above is the hotbodies upper in the process of fitting.

Here is the hotbodies belly pan and the pieces I had to cut off to make it fit, ever heard of fit and finish problems with hotbodies?  Don’t answer, that was internet sarcasm.

Whoa hotbodies, you just missed it! Nice try though.  The lighter colored square is the reinforced area I will not be getting to use.

Again, lots of cutting, will be doing a final aesthetic cut to make it look less hideous.  That’s what I get for trying to save money by going with a sharkskinz sbk tail/tankcover/fender and hotbodies upper/lower.  Sharkskinz is the only company I could find that sells the sbk tail, which gets rid of the teflon coated stock seat.  I saved $100, but I would give $200 to take that decision back and go all sharks!

Here are the riveted dzus fasteners, my previous bike had the clip type, which I hated, so I thought I would try these.  Surprisingly, they are a breeze to install and work much better than my clip-backing ones did.

Here’s a trick I learned from Will Scholze, who we all know is the king of Unibits!

Next up is finishing the carbon fiber subframe.  I made a right side piece with 6 layers, which turns out is not strong enough so I am adding another six to that and go from there.  If that works I will lay up the left side and finally be able to put the rest of this together!
